It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Back in the Fall

Do yourself a favor. When It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia comes back in the fall, watch it. When the DVDs of the first two seasons come out shortly before that, watch them. It is, by far, one of the funniest shows on television. I would not be at all surprised if it turned out to be one of the funniest shows ever on television.

I must warn you beforehand that it’s an acquired taste. The humor of the show is derived from how ludicrously jerky the characters are, so if you’re not amused by that you probably won’t enjoy it. If you like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld, Arrested Development, or other shows in a similar vein, definitely watch this show. I think it’s much better than Seinfeld, on the whole funnier than Curb, and on par with Arrested Development.

On par with Arrested Development? A big call, as much as I like It’s Always Sunny I think Arrested still beats it. I agree it’s better than Curb, maybe not Seinfeld but it is undeniably hilarious. The Nightman Cometh is all that needs to be said.
    Good blog.

I will agree that it’s not as consistently good as Arrested Development, but it does solicit a ridiculous amount of vocal laughs per episode.

Arrested Development was pretty great from start to finish. We’ll have to see if It’s Always Sunny… ends as strong. Thank you for your compliments!
